People across the Island are being encouraged to take part in a tap dancing challenge.
Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation IOM are holding the event and are now welcoming people to register.
Laura Jones, Community Fundraiser for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation IOM said: “To mark 30 years since Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation was founded, we’d like families and dancers to join us from the comfort of their own home (or socially distanced in a studio) to learn a dance routine inspired by Roy Castle’s famous record breaking performance outside the BBC studio.
“Once you’ve signed up – for only £5 – you’ll be sent a video link with a full guide on how to learn the dance routine. We’ve got BBC’s ‘The Greatest Dancer’ finalist Harrison Vaughan to create an interpretation of Roy Castle’s original dance with all the top tips of how to rehearse it at home!”
She continued: “The online registration process is easy – and you can also set up your own Just Giving page to support the charity further. Once perfected, each ‘tapper’ can send us a video of them in action and will receive a special 30th Anniversary medal for taking part.”
The charity is also reaching out to Island dance and stage schools who can submit Zoom videos of their pupils strutting their stuff.
