Police warn over phone scam

Police a warning about another phone scam after several people were duped out of their money.

Residents have reported receiving telephone calls from a person claiming to be from the Isle of Man Bank, alerting the recipients to possible fraudulent transactions on their accounts.

Banking details have then been requested by the caller, to assist with dealing with the so-called fraudulent transactions.

Unfortunately, having furnished the caller with details, these people have later found that considerable sums of money have been removed from their accounts.
