Coastguards were unable to rescue a dog washed out to sea yesterday.
Douglas Coastguard were sent to Garwick Beach at just before 3pm on Thursday.
The lifeboat was also launched to assist with the rescue, unfortunately neither service was able to locate or recover the dog despite numerous sweeps of the coast between Garwick and Laxey Harbour.
They say although the dog has not been rescued it doesn’t mean to say the dog didn’t manage to get ashore and is just resting up.
If spot a black and mainly white Springer spaniel in that area that appears to be lost or unaccompanied please contact the Marine operations Center at the Sea Terminal.
