A doorstep vigil will be held on the Island this evening to remember Sarah Everard.
The Women of Mann are inviting residents to take part in the tribute at 9.30pm.
People are being asked to stand on their doorstep or in their window with a candle or light for a minute of silence in Sarah’s honour and to remember other people who have suffered at the hands of male violence against women.
The death of Sarah Everard occurred after she disappeared in South London on the evening of 3rd March 2021. A resident of London's Brixton Hill area, Sarah went missing after leaving a friend's house near Clapham Common to walk home.
Women of Mann are aware that many people are feeling angry, sad, or hopeless in the aftermath of Sarah Everard’s disappearance.
One of the organisers, Stacey Astill said: "We want to provide an outlet for those who wish to show support, and allow people of the island to come together from a distance in solidarity, commemoration, and indignation."
