The Isle of Man has had no official requests from the UK about the possibility of an asylum seekers processing centre being located here.
That's according to Douglas South MHK Claire Christian who says this has been confirmed by the Chief Minister.
News resurfaced today that the Home Secretary Priti Patel is considering sending asylum seekers to offshore locations to be processed - the island was named as one of these places.
Mrs Christian said should this administration, or any in future, want this to happen it would be debated in Tynwald and MHKs would be the voice of residents in the matter.
Gibraltar was also named in the article by the Times and the government there also denies any knowledge of the plans.
