Two officers at the Isle of Man Prison have tested positive for Covid-19.
To reduce the risk of coronavirus spreading throughout the jail, inmates will now spend more time in their cells.
The two staff cases are linked to household transmission outside the prison and the officers are now self-isolating.
An infection control regime has been in place at the prison, with non-essential visits suspended and each wing operating as separate bubbles.
Minister for Justice and Home Affairs Graham Cregeen says it’s regrettable that despite the efforts there have been positive cases and they are doing all they can to prevent further transmission.
Alternative provision has been put in place to ensure prisoners can continue to access confidential legal advice, and the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) has been informed.
