Claire Christian has formally announced her intention to stand for re-election this September as an independent candidate.
She will contest the seat in Douglas South she has held for seven months.
“It will come as no surprise that I am announcing my candidacy for the General Election this September, as I stated my long term commitment to the constituency during my By-Election campaign. In the last sevenmonths, I feel I have “hit the ground running” as promised. My primary focus has been to represent the constituency, supportindividuals, and scrutinise government policy and decisions. As a Manx person living in Douglas South I have a deep understanding of the diverse neighbourhood we have.
It has been my honour to represent the constituents of Douglas South. I hope I have proven my worth as a valued Member of the House of Keys by demonstrating that I listen and I am prepared to hold government to account with robustness and vigour”.
Within Douglas South, Claire will continue her work “to maintain and protect accessible local primary healthcare, to champion innovativeideas to improve community Education, and develop a fair &affordable housing strategy”.
Claire currently holds two departmental memberships in DESC and the DOI.
