Man pleads not guilty to breaching coronavirus regulations

A Lonan man has pleaded not guilty to breaching the Island's COVID-19 regulations by organising an illegal gathering of 15 to 20 people.

Ian Kirk appeared at Douglas Courthouse earlier via video link.

Police arrested the 34-year-old yesterday morning at Laxey Beach.

The prosecution told the court Mr Kirk also held a similar gathering on Wednesday.

Kirk was bailed and will next appear in court on 27th April.
