Firefighters tackle shed fire

Firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire in the Baldrine area yesterday.

Appliances from Laxey and Douglas were sent to the incident at just before 9:45am.

Crews were faced with a shed that was on fire with a risk of the fire spreading to the property it was beside.

A Breathing Apparatus team quickly extinguished the fire using a high-pressure hose reel.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Please be careful when disposing of any hot ashes and ensure that the materials have been properly cooled and they are disposed of in an appropriate place."
