Lifeboat assist open water swimmer in difficulty

Port St Mary Lifeboat were called out to help with the rescue of a open water swimmer who got into difficulty in Castletown Bay.
The swimmer sent a radio distress call to the Coastguard at around 6pm on Saturday.
A vessel which was moored in Castletown Bay and had heard the distress call lifted their anchor and set off in search of the casualty.
Shortly after they located the swimmer and took them aboard.
The swimmer was transferred onto the inshore lifeboat and taken ashore.
