There could soon be some new seaside additions to Port Erin beach if planners give the green light.
Commissioners in the town want approval to put in moveable huts to enhance the beach experience.
An application has been submitted for 12 units, which would be large enough to add furniture and have double-glazed doors for use in any weather.
If given the go ahead, they would be available for rental on a daily basis between March and October before being removed at the end of the season.
In its application, Port Erin Commissioners says it wants the huts to have an “Instagrammable” offering, citing decor and standard of the shelters being of “paramount importance”.
The huts could also be made available for community use; for activities such as morning yoga, open water swimming and dipping clubs, kids birthday parties, and corporate events.
Two local charities have been identified which the operator would like to support if approval is granted, with Isle Listen and Hospice Isle of Man set to benefit.
Details have been provided as to how the units would be managed and maintained.
