A series of local events are organised to take place between 22nd May – 13th June in place of what would have been the 2021 Isle of Man TT Races.
The list of events includes something for all ages and interests, ranging from large-scale sports festivals to motor shows, beach rallies and family-friendly days.
Minister for Enterprise, Laurence Skelly MHK, commented: ‘The decision to cancel this year’s TT Races was a difficult one to make, but was made to provide clarity and certainty to race fans and those involved in the event. It does however have immediate impacts on the Island’s Travel and Tourism businesses.
In the absence of traditional events, and whilst travel to the Island remains restricted, community events provide a great stimulus by encouraging our residents to explore the Island, travelling to different towns and villages for special events and experiences, in turn increasing their domestic spending throughout the Island.
To be sustainable in the long term, local enterprises, including those in the visitor economy, need our custom. The visitor economy alone underpins approximately 3,000 jobs and so by making an effort to support local we can have a real, positive impact towards both sustaining employment and economic activity here in the Isle of Man.’
