Ramsey Lifeboat were called out to assist a day boat last night.
The boat with two people on board had broken down close to Ramsey Harbour mouth.
At the time of the incident the tide was ebbing and there was an offshore breeze.

The crew returned the vessel to her berth in Ramsey Harbour.
Coxswain Mark Kenyon commented “This vessel did have an auxillary engine which was unreliable. Anyone intending to go to sea for the first time after a prolonged lay up should always ensure that fresh fuel is used and run the engine to its normal running temperature before venturing to sea. Modern petrol does not store well in cans and quickly deteriorates, if combined with old fuel in filters or pipes then a breakdown is inevitable and difficult to resolve without flushing with fresh fuel.”
