Assurances given over potential buildings on The Underway

A developer has given assurances to Port St Mary Commissioners any new buildings on The Underway ‘will be safe’.

However, Chair Michelle Haywood says no formal engineering report has yet been shared with the local authority.

Concerns were raised two years ago that new properties proposed by Haven Homes below the Bay View Hotel could threaten the stability of the surrounding area.

Ms Haywood – who is also standing for Rushen in this year’s House of Keys election – spoke to Local Democracy Reporter Chris Cave:
