Former Head of RPU hits out over Broadway roundel

A former head of the Islands Road’s Policing Unit has hit out at the new design for junction with Broadway and Douglas promenade.

Derek Flint says that it is “utterly beyond belief the way the DOI is permitted to operate”.

Mr Flint who was an Inspector also commented that the new design for the junction does not comply with either the Highway Code or Traffic Signs Regulations.

The Minister for DOI, Tim Baker has said that motorists will “get used to it”.
