Garff Commissioners will be holding a ‘Drop-In’ evening for prospective candidates in the Local Government Elections which if contested will take place on July 22nd.
The Garff Local Authority constituency has three wards, Laxey, Lonan, and Maughold. There are three seats in each of the wards, making up a total of nine Commissioners on the Garff Board.
The ‘Drop-In’ is an opportunity to speak to a sitting Commissioner and Officers in an informal atmosphere to find out about the role and its responsibilities. There will be Tea, coffee, and other light refreshments at the session.
The ‘Drop-In’ Evening will take place on Monday 21st June between 7.00pm and 8.30pm at Mother T’s on New Road in Laxey (just up from the former Isle of Man Bank building).
Nomination papers and information are downloadable on the website www.garff.im or the Garff Commissioners Facebook page. The deadline for receipt of completed nomination papers is Tuesday 29th June.
