Yasmin Ingham (24) from Greeba, who was recently crowned IOM Sportswoman of the Year, is within sight of her first senior Team position having been added to the GB longlist.
The ‘longlist’ comprises of 21 riders of which 6 will be selected to represent Great Britain at this years European Eventing Championships in Switzerland.
Ingham already has an impressive numbers of titles to her name, which started in 2013 with a double gold win at the Pony European Champs and was British Champion in the same year. This was to the first of four British titles she has won and is so far the only person to hold the record of winning all four youth titles.
It was Ingham’s recent performance at Bicton Horse Trials which has earned her a place on the list. Bicton is a 4 star event which is the sports second highest level and Ingham was consistently in the top 4 on her horse Banzai Du Loir, owned by Sue Davies and Janette Chinn.
The final selection trials will take place in July and August, with the squad of 6 to be announced in mid August.
On her selection to the Longlist, Ingham commented:
"I am absolutely delighted and thrilled to be taking this next step towards selection for Senior Teams. After representing Great Britain successfully at Pony and Young Rider level, it has always been my goal to break into the Senior championship Teams, and with the Paris 2024 Olympics in three years, I know I have a horse in Banzai who could get me there, I'm so grateful to Sue Davies for purchasing him two years ago for me to produce for the top levels"
