Ashford to stand for re-election

The Health and Social Care Minister has confirmed he will stand for re-election in this year's General Election.

David Ashford has served Douglas North as an independent candidate since 2016.

Mr Ashford said: "Over the last four years I have taken on one of the most challenging roles within government that of Minister for Health & Social Care. I have relished the challenge and has provided me with a wide range of political challenges and experience that I believe will be useful in the next House."

independent candidates Kevin Oliphant-Smith, Ralph Peake and John Wannenburgh are also standing in the constituency.

The Isle of Man General Election will take place on 23rd September 2021.
