Man arrested for attempting to steal van

A man has been arrested after an attempt to steal a van in Douglas.

The incident happened at around 10:15pm last night in the area of Groves Road and New Castletown Road.

A male had been detained by a member of the public after stealing a white Mercedes van from outside premises in the area.

One male who was also in the stolen vehicle had ran off towards the Quarterbridge and remains unlocated.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Headquarters.
