Police encourage election candidates to report potential crimes

The Island's police force are encouraging candidates in the upcoming General Election to report any potential crimes.

It follows a number of candidates reporting campaign banners and posters being removed or defaced.

Some have reported banners being targeted within three hours of them being erected.

Police say they will investigate matters of theft and criminal damage if reported to them.
