Free public talk by RNLI in Douglas tonight

Thu, 30 Sep 2021

A talk from the RNLI will be held in Douglas this evening.

The charity will delve more into its worldwide work on drowning prevention and humanitarian work.

It will be hosted by the One World Centre at Ballakermeen High School's Studio Theatre at 7pm.

The discussion will be led by Kate Eardley, the RNLI Head of International Advocacy, Communications and Evidence, and Darren Williams.

Wendy Shimmin, Coordinator at the One World Centre, said, “While many people know about the RNLI’s work on the Island through the lifeboats we have stationed here, the organisation also works internationally to help communities and countries around the world where people are most at risk of drowning. We’re thrilled to have Kate and Darren here on the Island to talk to us first-hand about the work they do and how the Isle of Man has contributed to its success."

The talk is open to all and free to attend but please book a seat through Eventbrite at https://savinglivesworldwide.eventbrite.co.uk or by calling 800464.
