Free workshop for drama students
Fri, 08 Oct 2021
Drama students aged 13-18 are being invited to participate in the 2022 National Youth Theatre Connections project.
An introductory free workshop will be held at the Youth Arts Centre in Douglas on Wednesday 20th October between 5pm and 7pm.
Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK's most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow. 300 youth theatre companies and over 6,000 young people from every corner of the UK are producing a Connections play this year.
To take part you must be aged between 13 and 19. Rehearsals will run on Wednesday and Fridays 5pm -7pm at the Youth Arts Centre.
This is open to everyone who would like to take part on stage or off working on other design elements such as lighting design. This year, the partner theatre will be York Theatre Royal. Between the 5th and the 10th April, the cast will be taking their chosen play to York, where they will perform whilst getting the chance to see other plays. They will have the opportunity to participate in workshops led by leading artists.
