Demonstrations of how to administer CPR will take place in Douglas town centre this Saturday.
Manx Care’s Resuscitation Team will be providing demonstrations of CPR throughout the day at the Strand Shopping Centre on World Restart a Heart Day, offering members of the public the chance to have a go at learning this lifesaving procedure and answering any questions they may have.
Figures from the British Heart Foundation suggest that nearly a third of adults in the UK would be unlikely to attempt CPR if they found someone in cardiac arrest due to a lack of knowledge of how to perform the life-saving technique, despite it being a relatively simple technique to learn. The Resuscitation Team members, who are based at Noble’s Hospital, are working to raise awareness of cardiac arrest, and to teach others what can be done to respond quickly in an emergency.
Demonstrations will take place from 10am to 4pm at the Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas.
