Cavendish taken to hospital after high-speed crash

Mark Cavendish was taken to hospital after a high-speed crash at the Ghent Six last night.

The Manxman was racing the final Madison race of the iconic track event when he collided with Lasse Norman Hansen.

Cavendish was able to get to his feet and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Teammate Iljo Keisse said: “He has a big bruise on his ribs and a lot of pain in his thigh and arm.”
