Engineers are devising a scheme for the safe repair of a building near South Quay in Douglas after it was damaged by a vehicle at the weekend.
Following the incident, the building, which is owned by Dandara, has become unsafe, and the footpath and Eastern carriageway of Old Castletown Road have been closed for the public’s safety.
Traffic lights have also been installed on South Quay in support of the closed carriageway.
Once the engineering scheme is in place, works will be undertaken to make the building safe and repair the damage.
Traffic delays are expected to continue, potentially into the end of next week, until these essential works are complete.
