A teaching union on the Isle of Man are calling for a staggered start to students returning to school after the Christmas break.
The NASUWT has written to the Education Minister Julie Edge asking her to consider the immediate introduction of additional education measures to help slow the spread of Covid-19 and to minimise further disruption to education.
The union is also calling onsite testing facilities at educational settings and committing to investment in additional mitigations such as improved ventilation systems and CO2 monitors in every classroom.
In a statement, General Secretary Dr Patrick Roach said: "The NASUWT believes that these measures, together with wider Government measures including on vaccinations, are proportionate and responsible, and will contribute to our shared aim of minimising further disruption to children’s education."
