The humble Lickney stream is once again the subject of debate.
At Ramsey Town Commissioners’ December meeting, Commissioner Rob Cowell requested that the board suspend standing orders and debate the amalgamation of the town’s North and South Wards.
The proposal came after Deputy Chair Ffinlo Williams raised the matter to the then incomplete board in August.
It was decided a special meeting would be held after November’s by-election when the board would be at full membership, to debate the amalgamation of the two wards, board membership numbers, and the allocation of roles and responsibilities among commissioners.
Instead, members elected to discuss the matter there and then!
‘1 Ramsey, 1 board, 1 voice’, said Mr Cowell, ‘we can’t keep kicking this can down the road’.
Ultimately, the board deferred their decision until more information can be gathered – a date for which has not yet been set.
