Bins to be collected every two weeks in Douglas to cut costs

Bin collections in Douglas be will reduced from weekly to fortnightly services from April.

Douglas Borough Council yesterday approved the move at its annual budget meeting.

A rate increase of 3.7 per cent was agreed by councillors.

Leader Claire Wells said the changes to waste services would save around £25,000 a year.

The waste collection changes will come into force from April.
