Extinction Rebellion Isle of Man said they plan to protest in Douglas tomorrow.
In an interim target consultation put forward to the public, 51% supported an emissions reduction of 45% or higher by 2030. Tynwald has now proposed regulations with a date half a decade after the date proposed in the public consultation.
A spokesman for the local group said: "This is a disgusting betrayal, and one that makes our Island complicit in the death of our species' only home."
Campaigners plan to hold a protest during tomorrow's Tynwald sitting. They plan to occupy the Public Gallery and their voices heard and presence known while the sitting votes on the new proposition.
