New war memorials – dedicated to the memory of Polish airmen – are being installed on the Isle of Man.

 

On Friday a ceremony took place at Douglas Town Hall – and a similar service took place at Ronaldsway Air Museum on Saturday.

 

The plaques are dedicated to the memory of 11 servicemen who died in or around the Isle of Man between 1940 and 1946.

 

Captain Kuba Szymanski told Local Democracy Reporter Sarah Hendy more about the history of the Island’s connection to Polish soldiers:
