Person treated for smoke inhalation following house fire

Fire crews were called out a house fire in the early hours of this morning.

An off-duty police officer heading home after her shift spotted the fire and called 999.

The owner of the house was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus and with thermal image cameras and high pressure hose reels extinguished the fire which was confined to a ground floor lounge.
 
They remained in attendance for approx an hour and a half, damping down and clearing the property of smoke.
