Ramsey Town Commissioners have produced a canvas “bag for life”.
It follows a proposal from the Lead Member for Finance Juan McGuinness agreed at the May meeting of the Commission.
The bags can be purchased from Ramsey Town Library during normal opening hours at a cost £5 each.
Mr McGuinness commented: “Absolutely delighted with these canvas bags which will give people wishing to reduce their use of plastic bags an option that promotes the town at the same time. The artwork supplied by Visit IOM as part of their branding exercise has a nice traditional postcard feel and with this endeavour, if successful, there's nothing to stop us refreshing the design with art from one of our many talented local artists in the years to come."
