The Island's Fire and Rescue Service is reminding the Manx public of the risks involved with controlled burning during the current hot weather.
Fire officers warn the prolonged dry spell along with sea breezes means such fires can quickly get out of hand.
Crews responded to reports of a large grass fire in Crosby this week, but found it was someone burning off grass.
Anyone planning a controlled burn is urged to contact the Emergency Services Joint Control Room in advance.
