The fire service dealt with a wildfire on the headland at Groudle over the weekend.
The blaze broke out on Saturday near to the Groudle Glen railway line and is thought to have been started by a discarded BBQ.
Over 50,000 litres of fresh water was used including taking water from the river.
Hotspots cause the fire to flare up again on Sunday and volunteers from the Groudle Railway assisted the fire service in dealing with the blaze. Groudle Railway provided their fire locomotive.
The Fire service have attended a number of wildfires this week, including two at Port Soderick.
Appeals have gone out to the public to dispose of BBQ's properly or not use them at all.
