£3 million Civic Amenity Site to open next June

A £3 million pound scheme to build a new civic amenity site in the east of the Island has started.

The new site is next to the Incinerator at Middle Park in Braddan and will replace the current site at Middle River.

Local Authority Members from Douglas, Onchan, Braddan, Santon and Garff attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the development which will serve the regions ratepayers.

When complete, the site will provide for the disposal of domestic waste and recycling, and will include improved features to those currently provided.

Design and construction of the scheme is being carried out by developer Dandara and is due to open next June.
