The first ever sighing of a swordfish in Manx waters has been recorded.

A boat based survey was being carried out by the Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch on Saturday when the animal was spotted.

The animal was estimated to have been around 3 metres in length and is one of the fastest fish in the ocean.

MWDW said they are rarely sighted around the British Isles.
