Street collection in aid of Pakistan floods appeal

The One World Centre will hold a street collection around the Isle of Man this coming weekend in support of the Disasters Emergency Committee’s appeal for the Pakistan floods.

Torrential rainfall has caused devastating flooding in the country affecting an estimated 33 million people – one in seven Pakistanis – with whole villages cut off and homes, schools, roads and crops washed away.

Volunteers will be collecting in the Island’s main towns from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th September.  

There will also be a collection at Tesco on Friday 9th September. 

Anyone who is able to help out with the collection especially in Ramsey and Peel is asked to contact Wendy Shimmin on 310191 or email info@owciom.org.
