Hop-tu-Naa treats in Douglas this Saturday

Wed, 26 Oct 2022

Island charities are being urged to get in touch with the organisation which works alongside retail businesses in the capital.

There’ll be sweet treats galore when Jinny the Witch and her spooky friends descend on the capital this Hop-tu-Naa.

But will you be brave enough to visit her lair this Saturday afternoon (October 29)?

Guttery Gable will become Guts Grave between midday and 4pm and, by following the bubbles that will be floating down Strand Street, you may be able to find the lair where Jinny will be accompanied by some interesting characters.

There’ll also be some hidden surprises within - if you dare to enter!

Oliver Cheshire, Town Centre Manager for Douglas Town Centre Management, said: ‘We love to celebrate Hop-tu-Naa in Douglas and this year is no exception.

‘Surprisingly, Jinny is feeling generous at the moment and giving away some lovely chocolates - or at least she’s telling us it’s chocolate - to anyone who is brave enough to visit her. She will be accompanied by the usual suspects at this time of year, including Frankie (described as a cross between Frankenstein and Lurch!), and a few other choice characters.

‘This is a completely free event so be sure to come down and visit.’

A hat hunt will also be held during the day where knitted witches’ hats filled with sweets will be hidden in the town centre. Four of the hats contain winning tickets with £30 vouchers for any town centre business up for grabs.
