Firefighters responded to reports of a washer/dryer fire earlier.
A crew from Douglas were sent to the incident at just before 1:30pm.
On arrival they found a washer/dryer that was on smouldering, crews quickly isolated the power and ensured that the area was safe for the occupant.
A spokesperson for Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service said: "If you have a dryer we advise that you regularly clean the trap out of lint after each use of the dryer. This is an important task as the more lint that accumulates, the greater the risk that it will overheat. In addition to cleaning the lint trap regularly, we also advise that the exterior vent for your dryer is checked on a monthly basis to make sure there is no lint build up there."
