Dead geese test positive for avian influenza

More than 130 dead geese have tested positive for avian influenza.

The birds were discovered at the Point of Ayre over the weekend.

DEFA confirmed at least one of the birds had tested positive for the virus.

Manx BirdLife has announced its nature reserve in the area had been closed to visitors as a result.

People are asked not to touch any sick or dead birds.
