Log burner warning after fire service callout

Fire crews from Peel were called to attend a report of a smoke logged property yesterday.

The occupant had called the emergency services as their carbon monoxide alarm had been activated and whilst on the phone noticed that the property was becoming smoke logged. 

Upon arrival, it was ascertained that the cause of the smoke was due to a fault with  the occupants log burner. 

The fire service are asking people who have a wood burning stove or a solid fuel burning appliance please make sure that it is swept regularly, at least twice a year if you are burning wood.
