Getting rid of mould in council owned housing is ‘a core priority’.

 

That’s according to Douglas Councillor Devon Watson who says resources need to be prioritised and an improvement programme ‘needs to be sped up’.

 

The council has also improved its policies around black mould, so anyone who reports is added to a list and will get a ‘personal visit’ from a housing officer.

 

He also says that newer council housing has improved ventilation systems, and insulation, to help prevent black mould occurring.
