Port Erin Methodist Church has received a grant of £590 from the Manx Lottery Trust to develop its Warm Places Events throughout the winter.
Thanks to Manx Lottery Trust funding, the church, which, for the last 12 months has run a fortnightly drop-in for those who are socially and financially marginalised, has been able to increase this activity to weekly.
The drop-in event provides attendees with the opportunity to socialise, stay warm and enjoy hot food and drinks. The church will also be extending the drop-in opening times from 11:45 through until 15:00 every Wednesday.
The grant has been funded by the Trust’s Community Warm Spaces Fund. The Fund, which is backed by the Isle of Man Government, supports local initiatives championing safe, warm, and welcoming spaces for those who are vulnerable within the community.
