Views wanted on radio listening habits on Isle of Man
Thu, 22 Dec 2022
A survey has been launched to gather the listening habits of residents on the Isle of Man.
The Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority (the Authority) is the statutory body responsible for regulating broadcasting.
Local radio plays an important part in local communities and can be seen as a central part of the community as recent events, such as the Covid 19 pandemic, demonstrated.
The range of ways that listeners can access the radio has increased, for example people are listening on their mobile, through smart speakers as well as by conventional FM.
The Authority is gathering information from both consumers and business through conducting surveys to assess the current engagement with local broadcasting and methods of consuming this media.
⦁ Consumer survey ‘How do you listen to the Radio?’ looks into consumers’ listening habits and thoughts on Broadcasting and the listening experience.
⦁ Business survey to provide insight behind business advertising on local radio.
Both surveys should take a few minutes to complete and are available to answer online on the CURA website at
https://www.cura.im/.
