Teachers strike action suspended

A teachers strike on the Isle of Man has been suspended.

Members of the NASUWT were due to walk out for a second day on Thursday.

A statement from the Manx Government said: "Following the meeting on Friday 6 January between the NASUWT and the Department of Education, Sport and Culture, and the subsequent work which has continued since that meeting, the Department has been advised by the NASUWT that tomorrow’s strike action will be suspended."

All pupils will be expected to attend school as normal tomorrow (Thursday).
