Appeal after damage caused to football pitch

Police are appealing for information after damage was caused at a football club in the west of the Island.

The incident happened between 1pm on Saturday 14th January and 8am the following day.

Officers said someone forced a tethered gate breaking the latch, and then rode onto the pitch at St Johns AFC with something that caused deep ruts in the grass.

The damage caused the football club to temporarily reorganise planned sporting fixtures and move them to another venue to allow the grass to recover.
