RSE Row - Commissioner Hits Back At Dept Statement
Wed, 22 Mar 2023

The Local Authority Member who forced an external review of RSE (Relationship & Sex Education) lessons in the Island schools, has hit back at the Education Minister.
It comes after the Department of Education Sport & Culture released a summary of the first part of the investigations in to RSE and the delivery of a "Drop Down Day" at QE2 High School in Peel.
Eliza Cox (Vice Chair Marown Commissioners) says that the information released so far, has told parents nothing and they are still in the dark about what was taught to the children in the classes and that only DESC staff and their contributors have been interviewed.
Yesterday, the Education Minister Julie Edge stated that the original allegations were 'inaccurate' but did not go as far to say they were 'false'.
We asked Ms Cox for her reaction to the statement made by the Education Minister.
