Armed officers respond to incident in Peel

Armed officers have attended an 'ongoing incident' in Peel.

Queen Elizabeth II High School was evacuated earlier and a cordon around the site has been put in place.

Police are also dealing with a further incident at Peel Castle.

A large number of police vehicles including armed response officers are on scene.

Isle of Man Constabulary said: "We are advising members of the public to refrain from attending these areas, until further notice."

"In addition to this, it is advised that drone operators do not deploy their devices at this time."
 
Isle of Man Transport says to due to the closure of Main Road at St Johns - Peel - all buses will operate from Douglas to Peel from Ballacraine via Main Road, Station Road, Hope, Curragh Road, Ballacraine, Ballig Bridge and Poortown Road to Peel. Peel to Douglas via Poortown Road, Ballig Bridge, Ballacraine, Hope, Station Road and Main Road to Ballacraine.
