Searches ongoing after 'alleged explosive device' threat

Police have confirmed they recieved a threat relating to an alleged explosive device at Queen Elizabeth II High School and Peel Castle this afternoon.

The force said the threat was recieved by email at just before 4pm.

The school and castle were evacuated as a precaution and a cordon remains in place.

Isle of Man Constabulary said searches remain ongoing and police are continuing to search the school and Castle throughout this evening.

It is hoped that the school with be open in the morning for pupils to safely attend.
