Man charged with Douglas assault

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

Police said the arrest was in connection with an assault on Victoria Street in Douglas on Saturday.

A man was found with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

22-year-old Matthew Woods appeared at Douglas Courthouse earlier and was remanded into custody.

He will next appear in court next Tuesday.
